How rankings work
Every order on AgencyListed comes from facts a buyer can check on the listing. Nobody can pay for a better position or more leads: not with featured status, an Aidelly subscription or AgencyListed Pro.
Shortlists
“Best [service] agencies in [city]” pages appear once at least 3 public agencies offer that service in that city, and are opened to search engines at 5. Each agency gets points for what it has verified and published:
| Criterion | What we check | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Verified ownership | The agency proved it runs its own website (work email, website code or DNS). | 4 |
| Claimed by the agency | Someone from the agency manages the listing. | 1 |
| Published starting price | Buyers can see a monthly starting price. | 1 |
| Named clients | At least one client is named on the listing. | 1 |
| A real description | 200 characters or more, written about the agency. | 1 |
| Founding year | When the agency was founded. | 0.5 |
| Team size | How many people work there. | 0.5 |
Ties go to the agency with more years in business, then alphabetical order.
Search
Search results show verified agencies first, then the closest match to your words, then alphabetical order. Filters (service, city, budget, team size) only include or exclude agencies; they never reorder them by anything else.
Project briefs
When a business describes a project on Get matched, a person reads it first. It then goes to up to 5 verified agencies that offer the service: in the buyer’s city first, and elsewhere only if the buyer said remote is fine, ordered by the same points as the shortlists. Every matched agency receives the same brief, with the same buyer details, at the same moment.
Featured
Featured picks are editorial and labelled “Featured”. They appear in their own section on the home page and never change the order of shortlists, search results or brief matches. Featured status can’t be bought, including through an Aidelly subscription.
Aidelly and AgencyListed Pro
AgencyListed is built by Aidelly. Using Aidelly, or paying for AgencyListed Pro, adds tools and insights for the agency. It doesn’t change where the agency ranks, whether it’s verified, or which briefs it receives. The “Uses Aidelly” label on some listings is a disclosure and has no effect on order.
How an agency moves up
Verify the listing, publish a starting price, name a client or two, and write a description about the agency’s actual work. All of it is free in the owner dashboard.
